Categories Project Update as of 10-16-09
Submitted by retailup on Fri, 10/16/2009 - 10:13am.
The attached files represent the progress to date on the categories project (see post titled "Categories Project Overview" for details on this project if you are new to it).
This file presents as of today 1. Reconcilation of categories used by Tri Tech, West and Retail Up that were obvious already. An "x" in the subcategory name indicates that the item was present on that companie's chart. A "?" indicates that either the item needs to be identified on the chart, we may have missed it, or it may be called something different and couldn't be determined at a first run through.
2. The second chart presents the original tables in a tabbed format. They are sorted by:
Red items-- those that are on the current master table-- so they were accounted for.
Black items-- Items that need review and discussion to see if they should be included or they could be just items we may have missed.
The next step is to obtain from
NAMM- Three versions-- product history, sales reporting from Music Trades and the original categorization project-- to compares to this.
Other companies-- Sweetwater, Willis, Music 123, Hal Leonard and others to add their input to this.
