NAMM/Boys and Girls Clubs of America's MusicMakers Program
In May of 2007, NAMM in collaboration with the National Boys and Girls Clubs of America, launched a complete MusicMakers program resource guide into more than 4,000 Boys and Girls Clubs of America locations. The resource guide will provide a basic template to set up, launch and run a music program—however, community-based partnerships formed between like-minded music retailers, community groups, private citizens and after-school organizations are vital in establishing successful programs. Boys and Girls Clubs of America offers after-school programs to children in more than 4,000 clubs nationwide. The program features an easy-to-follow music-making guide that appeals to young people interested in getting started on a number various instruments. There are several ways for NAMM Members to get involved, including the referral of instructors and technicians, instrument placements rental, sales or loans, and the opportunity to host in-store clinics, lessons and general tours.
