NAMM Oral History 10th Anniversary
Tenth Anniversary
April 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of the first NAMM Oral History Interview! Many great stories have been captured, industry leaders have been recognized and we may have successfully created a format to preserve the history of our industry.
We have learned so much in ten years, perhaps most importantly that the music products industry is full of passionate people who enjoy what they do and are all too happy to provide their memories to our camera for future generations to learn from. By working to stay in touch with this impressive group of people (we send a birthday card to each and everyone of our interviewees) we have created something else important, a support group of people who understand the project and who have provided additional suggestions, research, background, interview space and so much more to help us advance the collection.
The Oral History team can boast of surpassing the original goal set back in 2000. The original goal for the Oral History program was to complete 100 interviews by the tenth anniversary. At this tenth anniversary we can report that 1,345 interviews have been completed!
The success of the NAMM Oral History program has been made possible thanks to your amazing and on-going support. Thank you and please keep the ideas coming!
