A couple years ago NAMM created an area at the NAMM Show where NAMM members can find assistance from many organizations, such as the Small Business Administration (SBA) and SCORE.  We made a connection with SCORE. We needed some advice regarding marketing and a few other issues. We could have found an "expert" who would likely have an agenda and a hefty price tag. SCORE is a group of executives, some retired and other who are still working. In each of their chapters they have specialists who can give you assistance in any area you choose. In our case we continue to work with two gentleman who have become a part of our executive team. It still amazes me the amount of time and effort they have dedicated to our company. All their work is on a volunteer basis and they do it because they are passionate about helping others. My company has been around since 1899 and you might ask why would we need their assistance. I believe there is incredibly valuable in having someone with fresh eyes look at what you do on a daily basis. We have been extremely pleased with their contribution.
