2008 State of the Industry Address

NAMM President and CEO Joe Lamond opened the 2008 Summer NAMM Show with the annual "State of the Industry Address," which was peppered with optimism about the economic landscape. The standing-room-only crowd listened to panels of retail experts and industry pioneers discuss the current business climate, new trends and the challenges and opportunities that will influence the music products community in the second half of 2008 and beyond. The recently released white paper from the National Retail Federation, "Challenges of the Future: The Rebirth of Small Independent Retail in America," was the cornerstone of the opening session.
