Exhibitors: Looking for Increased Product Exposure at the NAMM Show? Utilize NAMM’s Press Room and PR Resources at the Show

Do you have a brand new product to announce at the NAMM Show or does your product stand out from the rest and have “newsworthiness?” Then you might want to use the options available to you through NAMM’s onsite Press Room at the NAMM Show.

Each year, more than 1,000 members of the television, print and online media come from all over the world to cover the music products being exhibited at the NAMM Show. Some of the media outlets cover specific segments of the music product industry such as guitars or drums, and other outlets such as CNN or USA Today are more consumer-driven. If your goal is enhanced global exposure of your product, here is how you can utilize the Press Room at the show to maximize your product visibility.

Hold a Press Conference at the NAMM Show
In this case you have two options. You could host the press conference at your booth and send an invitation to registered media previous to the show to come to your booth and hear your announcement or product demonstration. NAMM will provide you with a list of credentialed media covering the show and you can pick and choose which ones to invite who might be most interested in your announcement.

The second option is to host your press conference in NAMM’s Press Room. Here you will be offered the choice of an available one-hour time slot and accessibility to a stage, podium and microphone to enhance your presentation. Additional options such as catering and audio/video are available upon request. The benefit of hosting the event in the Press Room is that even if the media you invite do not attend, you will have an average audience of 50 or more working press in the Press Room who will hear your announcement.

To reserve your press conference in the Press Room, contact Kymberly Drake, NAMM’s PR and social media manager, at kymberlyd@namm.org. As an added promotional benefit and to avoid conflicting press conference times, exhibitors who are hosting press conferences at their booths are encouraged to contact kymberlyd@namm.org to have their conferences listed on a master schedule in the Press Room for media to reference.

Drop Off Marketing Materials in the Press Room
In addition to uploading your electronic press kit for media to access in NAMM’s online “Virtual Press Room,” exhibitors are encouraged to drop off about 100 copies of their hardcopy press releases and marketing materials in the Press Room starting on Wednesday, Jan. 18. The materials will be placed on display for media to view and take with them.

Set Up One-On-One Interviews with Press
The Press Room is a space where exhibitors can meet face-to-face with members of the press to speak about their products or promotions. To set up an interview, request a list of press from NAMM in mid-December and scan the list to see which media outlets you think could help you get the most exposure. Then contact the reporters to see if you can meet with them.

Exhibitors who need a media list are encouraged to contact NAMM in mid-December for a substantial working list of registered media at kymberlyd@namm.org.
