GETTING THE BEST AIRFARE
The only thing that's a better investment than attending the NAMM Show is gettting a great deal on your airfare. And even though money is tight right now, there are still some great deals to be found. Some are even 30 to 40 percent lower than they were just a few weeks ago. Check with your favorite airlines for the latest deals and here are a few tips on ways you can secure the best possible price:
1. Buy your ticket now. Since oil prices are fluctuating, it’s important to lock in your airfare as soon as possible. The further in advance you purchase, the better the chance that you’ll get a good rate.
2. Travel midweek. Tuesdays through Thursdays are generally less expensive times to fly, and since the NAMM Show starts on Thursday that works in your favor. Flights departing very early or late in the day are often more affordable than mid-day flights.
3. Shop around. With so many travel Web site competing for your business, it makes sense to shop around and compare their bids to the airlines'. It may save you money to consider other arrival cities such as Los Angeles and San Diego, where you can catch a shuttle into Orange County or rent a car and drive into Anaheim.
