Make Music on June 21: Encouraging Music Making by People Across the Globe

Make Music Day is June 21, and people in cities across the globe are taking part by attending concerts and events around town and making some music of their own! Participating cities In the United States include Cambridge, Massachusetts; Chicago, Denver; Kalamazoo; Los Angeles; New York City; Palo Alto; Pasadena; Oakland; Santa Fe; and Washington, D.C.

Make Music New York is celebrating the fourth year of its "Mass Appeal," which features 23 massive concerts throughout the city on this day.

Make Music originated in France with Fête de la Musique, a free popular fête, open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it. Learn more about the history of the event and participating cities around the globe—there might be one near you!
