NAMM President/CEO Joe Lamond today released a statement about Steve Jobs and his impact on the music products industry and music making.

"The global music products industry mourns the passing of visionary technology leader Steve Jobs. As a longtime NAMM member, Apple changed the way people created and recorded music. From making home recording available to the masses with GarageBand software to giving studio pros the tools they needed with high end products such as Logic Studio, Apple made it possible for millions to explore their creativity and make their own music. During the last NAMM Show, Apple iPads were everywhere, used in a variety of ways including as musical instruments in their own right. Steve’s vision and Apple’s innovative spirit will continue to shape our industry for years to come."
