A NEW CONGREGATION OF CUSTOMERS COMES TO SUMMER NAMM

A NEW CONGREGATION OF CUSTOMERS COMES TO SUMMER NAMM thumbnail

This year, in addition to the traditional retail buyers attending 2009 Summer NAMM, July 17-19, we’re introducing a new audience to the show: the worship market.

This summer NAMM is partnering with Technologies for Worship magazine to offer educational classes and hands-on training in lighting, pro audio, integration of MI and other cutting-edge technologies. The seminars are designed provide a forum for churches of all sizes and denominations to learn how they can maximize their present music technology, as well as their outreach potential.

The Technology for Worship Pavilion at Summer NAMM will feature an interactive environment where attendees can test-drive new gear, attend instructional seminars, speak with product designers, network with installers and technical contractors and experience live performances on the state-of-the-art Quiet Stage. This is an exciting opportunity for Summer NAMM exhibitors to meet with tech teams, worship leaders and pastors from across North America and discuss how to integrate their products into the worship environment.

The statistics on this market speak for themselves:
•    There are over 12,500 houses of worship just in the state of Tennessee
•    There are over 301,000 houses of worship in the U.S., with an average growth rate of 1% built each year
•    In 2006, $7 billion was spent by churches on pro-audio gear
•    A study conducted by TFWM in January 2009 reported that 83% of the churches surveyed use electronic musical instruments and 98% use a live sound system. In this same survey, they reported that 94% of the buying decisions for microphones were made by church staff.
