NAMM Collaborates with Latin American Publisher Musica & Mercado to Reach Out to Region's Industry
NAMM plans to work with Latin American magazine publisher to unify and foster growth in that region's music products market.
NAMM announced today that it will be working with Latin American magazine publisher Música & Mercado of Sao Paulo, Brazil, to unify and foster growth in the Latin American music products market using the magazine and the NAMM Show as communication vehicles.
According to Betty Heywood, director of international affairs at NAMM, the collaboration with the leading business-to-business South American music products magazine publisher will provide the opportunity for NAMM to expand its ongoing outreach to the international music products trade industry, and expose industry professionals in that area to more business opportunities.
“The Latin American market represents major potential growth areas for our commercial Members, and for increasing the number of retail Members in these markets,” said Betty Heywood, director of international affairs at NAMM. “Our new collaboration with Música & Mercado will help NAMM in its research in those markets, and help us reach out to new or existing Members. As with everything NAMM does, better membership service is at the heart of this collaboration.”
Música & Mercado publishes two magazines, one written in Portuguese for a Brazilian audience and the other written in Spanish for circulation to the rest of Latin America. Both publications reach 7,500 music retailers, distributors and store managers in Latin America. Distribution covers all 17 Spanish-speaking countries, including Central America and the Caribbean. Total readership for both editions is more than 28,000.
According to Daniel A. Neves, president of Música & Mercado, while this region’s industry is growing there is a need for Latin American music products companies to gain further access to the U.S. market as a whole and be recognized for the attractive business opportunities offered in Latin America.
“As the leading business-to-business media of the music industry in Latin America, Música & Mercado is very proud to announce a collaboration with NAMM,” said Daniel A. Neves, president of Música & Mercado. “We believe that a joint effort and exchange of information on Latin markets will stimulate regional music dealers to seek further development and growth in their businesses.”
