We've had many concerned friends and Members of NAMM contact us in the past few days, asking for an update on the current wildfire situation here in Southern California.

The sheer number of fires and the mass evacuations of nearly a million people have made this one of the worst disasters in California history. Fortunately, our offices in Carlsbad were spared from this devastation, and everyone on our NAMM team is safe and accounted for. NAMM’s offices were closed on Tuesday, due to an advisory evacuation, but are now open again as we begin to reach out and assist Members based in Southern California who have been affected by this tragedy.

The weather seems to be cooperating, and the latest reports show that things are improving. We’re hopeful that those displaced by the fires, including many NAMM staffers, will be allowed to go home in the next few days. President Bush and Governor Schwarzenegger have promised their full cooperation as those impacted by this tragedy begin the process of rebuilding.
