Healthcare Webinar

Webinar: Healthcare Reform and How Regulatory Changes Will Affect Your Business

No matter how you feel about the outcomes of the health care reform legislation, new regulations will affect your day to day business operations and communications about healthcare coverage benefits for your employees.

NAMM’s legal counsel, Venable LLP (www.Venable.com ), is offering a free informative webinar on Thursday, Sept. 16 called Redesigning Your Health Plan and Open Enrollment . I urge you to consider participating.

If you are a small music retailer or manufacturing shop, you may wish to rely on your insurance provider to guide you in the new options and rules that are being implemented. However, even for small businesses, information available via the webinar could help your decision making process.

Businesses with more than 50 employees – both retail and manufacturing – may have more formalized HR policies for employee benefits and the information may help guide company-wide policy review.

I urge you to dig in and get the information you need. At NAMM, our efforts to help keep you informed on this and other matters carry on each and every day.

Healthcare Reform 2.0: Redesigning Your Health Plan and Open Enrollment

For HR professionals, CFOs and the in-house counsel who support them, September doesn't mean going back to school; it means open enrollment season for health plans!

This summer, we've been deluged with a flood of new regulations implementing health reform. In light of these new rules, join us for Part 2 of our continuing webcast series on how health reform will affect the design of your health plan. Learn what planning opportunities—and challenges—are created by these new rules, and find out what steps you need to take in order to ensure a successful open enrollment season. Topics to be discussed include:

  • Whether your plans can or should be "grandfathered" from health reform changes—and what factors you should consider in making that decision
  • Key coverage rules, including coverage of adult children and limitations on pre-existing condition exclusions
  • Key benefit rules, including limits on annual and lifetime maximums, and preventive care rules
  • Important changes in how benefit claims and appeals must be processed
  • Other important developments affecting plan design for 2011, such as the mental health parity rules
  • New notice rules and enrollment rights affecting open season planning

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, 2010
