Attendance Requirements

NAMM is not open to the general public and attendees must be in the music products industry or be invited by a NAMM Member.

Only Members of NAMM and their employees may bring children to the NAMM Show provided they are accompanied by a qualified adult (must be over 18) who has one of the following badges:

RED: Exhibitor, Demonstrator, Manufacturer Rep.
BLUE: Buyer, Distributor Buyer, Corporate Buyer, Retail Employee
GREEN: Exhibitor Employee, Associate, Non-Exhibitor
CLEAR: Media
BLACK: Artist

IMPORTANT: Attendees with yellow visitor badges may not bring children or infants under the age of 18 to the NAMM Show.

Please Note: Changes in Badge Registration Policy to Benefit Members

In the past, many Members used placeholder names while confirming their guest list in order to meet the December badge deadline. As technology improves, so does the badge registration process. Since we no longer mail out badges, we are able to move the deadline to January 5, so you have more time to confirm your final guest list. There will be a $25 charge for each new name or badge requested after January 5 (subject to allotment).

If you have any questions about the new policy or badge registration, you can contact Ken Longenecker at KenL@namm.org or by phone at 760-438-8007, ext. 135.

Why do we require you to provide a unique e-mail address at registration? To receive a personalized confirmation bar code and number, which will be scanned upon your arrival at the show for your badge to be printed instantly. With this in mind, badge registration is easy—just follows these guidelines:

  • You will be asked to enter your individual e-mail address.
  • An individual's e-mail address can only be used once.
  • NAMM will automatically send your badge confirmation to the e-mail address provided, which you can print and bring to the show.
  • A reminder e-mail will be sent before the show.
  • A matching photo I.D. is required.
  • Please note: There are no refunds granted.

Avoid standing in long lines. If you print out your confirmation and bring it with you to the show, you can scan the confirmation bar code at one of the many badge pickup locations to quickly receive your actual NAMM Show badge. If you don't have your bar code, your confirmation number will be sufficient.

Please note: If you have not received your badge confirmation, NAMM will be sending a reminder confirmation e-mail January 10.

Children Under the Age of 18 Admission Policy
Important Guidelines:

  • Children must be under adult supervision at all times.
  • A Child Release Form must be filled out for each child.
  • Mobile phone number required for parent/guardian to complete child badge registration.
  • Qualified guardians (must be over 18) and children may pick up their badges in Room 201 of the Anaheim Convention Center only.
  • All children under 18 are only allowed access to NAMM Show exhibits during show hours only.
  • Children under the age of 18 are not permitted on the trade show floor during setup or teardown.
  • Child badges count toward the NAMM Member company’s badge allotment.
  • Children cannot be badged as Sunday Only guests.

"Sunday Only" Yellow Badge
The Sunday Only yellow badge gives exhibitors another option.

  • Please take a look at your current yellow badge list, decide who needs to be there all four days and give them the traditional yellow badge.
  • For all the others, give them the Sunday Only yellow badge. We're offering a generous allotment of Sunday Only badges so that you can continue to invite those non-industry guests you’ve been inviting in the past.
  • To clarify, exhibiting companies will have the same number of visitor badges you have always had, and now you will also have a separate and equal allotment of Sunday Only badges.
  • Sunday Only guests must be at least 18 years old.

The goal with this change is to relieve some of the aisle congestion on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. In the past few years we've taken many steps to enhance the value of the blue buyer badges (early floor access and preferred parking) and this change will help our buyers get around easier and get more business done.

How do I request additional badges over my company's allotment?
In order to combat the growing visitor badge situation at the NAMM Show, over-allotment badges are unavailable this year. Visit our Badge Allotment Policy Statement for more info.
