Nick Johnson

At age 12, Nick Johnson began his guitar wielding journey by meticulously learning Metallica and Led Zeppelin songs by ear. Ever since, He's been a music addict and metal head at heart. Nick grew up in a small town outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. Lehi,Utah is a relatively boring place for a young teen, but a perfect setting for a music lover to practice guitar for hours on end. After graduating from Lehi High school in 2009 Nick went on to attend Weber State University in Ogden, Utah to pursue a music degree. After completing two years of college Nick dropped out to begin his professional music career with the punkcore band "S.3.X". By age 20 he had successfully written, recorded, and toured the U.S. and Canada. Nick planned to continue with the band in early 2012 but quit due to the announcement of his child's birth. His beautiful, blue eyed, red haired little girl named Jettlyn Aly Johnson was born on December 23rd, 2012, two days before Nick's birthday of December 25th. After quitting S.3.X Nick put down the electric guitar and picked up an acoustic, having spent years idolizing finger style guitarists such as Andy McKee, Jon Gomm, Sungha Jung, Michael Chapdelain, Trace Bundy and many others. Nick rediscovered his love for music through finger style technique and decided to give music one last chance as a solo finger style musician. He has since devoted as much time as possible (4-6+ hours a day) to studying music and different techniques to incorporate into his own style of playing the steel string acoustic guitar. Nick put in place a strict musical regimen for himself in 2013 and began composing, recording, writing and even taking vocal lessons for a short time to refine every skill available to him as a solo artist. In 2014, Nick began to release original content via Instagram and Youtube. His online videos have since gained a respectable following and attracted the attention of the world renowned Stonebridge Acoustic Guitar Company. One short phone call later, Nick happily joined the Stonebridge/Furch family and picked up a Furch G23cr as his primary instrument. That guitar in hand, Nick released his first solo EP "Held in Reverie" on March 17th 2015, and he looks forward to touring through the United States and releasing much more content throughout 2015 and beyond.
