Tyler Stenson

"The last time I witnessed someone with your kind of presence and voice, that leaped beyond the speakers and pulled me in, was when I worked with Garth Brooks. You have it man."

Those are the words of legendary producer Don Was to singer-songwriter Tyler Stenson after his performance at the finals of the Guitar Center Singer-Songwriter competition in early 2014.                   Stenson was a Top Ten finalist selected out of over 10,000 artists in that competition. In 2014, several of Stenson’s songs were added to the SiruisXM’s Coffeehouse playlist and he has been an in-demand guest for numerous radio and blog interviews, including features on the syndicated Static Beach radio, the Portland Radio project, EGH Radio, Our City Radio and more.

Born in Wyoming, but raised in Oregon, Tyler Stenson is an arresting singer/songwriter of acoustic 'elegant folk' music that hints at comparison to songwriter greats such as James Taylor, Cat Stevens and Ryan Adams.

Having been twice-named “Songwriter of the Year” by the Portland Songwriters Association (2007 and 2008), “Best Male Artist” at the 2011 Portland Music Awards and ReverbNation's“Breaking Artist” in 2013, Stenson is noted as one of the premiere artists in the Northwest but is gaining traction on a much bigger world stage.

As a result of his increasing popularity, Stenson has opened for LeAnn Rimes, Chris Isaak, John Popper, Matisyahu, Adam Duritz (Counting Crows), Mark Cohn, Fuel and Guster and, out of nearly 4,000 national bands, Stenson was hand-selected by Adam Duritz (lead singer of Counting Crows) and Ryan Spaulding (rslblog.com) to perform at The Outlaw Roadshow showcase at the 2013 SxSW music festival.

Off stage, Stenson is currently sponsored by Bose and Boulder Creek Guitars and his original music has been featured on multiple Chevrolet commercials and a few popular television series. He was also asked to write the opening song for a new web series “Drained World” (debuting soon) and 6 of his songs were featured in an audio book series.
