House Subcommittee Passes Funding Bill

The U.S. House of Representatives Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Education and Health and Human Services has passed a funding bill that provides a $1 billion appropriation for the Title IV  Student Support and Academic Enrichment Grant program. This important new formula grant program for states and local school districts supports the goal of providing students with a well-rounded education.  This appropriation is $700 million dollars more than the version that has passed the Senate last month.  The next step in the process is for the full House Appropriations Committee to meet to consider the subcommittee bill.  That meeting is tentatively  scheduled for the week of July 11, 2016.

As part of the Title IV, Part A Coalition, the NAMM Foundation supports the subcommittee's efforts.
