California Adopts New Rules For Proposition 65 Disclosure

The State of California has adopted new rules governing the disclosure of potential cancer-causing chemicals and other materials in consumer products.  The new rules, which become mandatory August 30, 2018 (but which manufacturers and retailers may comply with before that time), require product packaging and labeling disclosures to be much more specific about which cancer-causing chemicals or substances are contained in a product; current rules allowed a general disclosure that a particular product may contain a cancer-causing substance.
