The U.S. Department of Education has put out a call for real-life examples of successful back-to-school risk management practices for pre-k through college classrooms that will then be available to teachers and administrators in a clearinghouse as they plan to return to in-person learning. The U.S. Department of Education has listed specific topics for consideration, and since not all submissions will be accepted, it is very important to follow the template provided to be considered for inclusion in the clearinghouse.

In a video to accompany the template, Mary Luehrsen, executive director of The NAMM Foundation, James Weaver from the National Federation of High School Associations and Lynn Tuttle, from the National Association for Music Education give step-by-step instructions for sharing best practices for safer in-person music and performing arts programs in schools using the template provided. Since music and performing arts has been underrepresented in the back-to-school guidance so far, we highly encourage submissions that feature music and performing arts classes that are using risk management strategies as outlined in the aerosol study.
