Born in Lansing, Michigan, Jimmy grew up admiring and idolizing his father's role as a lead singer and guitarist in a local rock n' roll band. After playing drums and guitar in a number of garage bands, Jimmy graduated high school and served four years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft maintenance technician. Shortly after completing his college certification and returning home from the service, he found himself applying for a job at Marshall Music as a loading dock worker. Despite his technical training and experience Jimmy found the world of music retail to be a rewarding experience and also a path to a serious career. Fourteen years later he became the President of Marshall Music where he still serves today.
