The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), the non-profit John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and SupportMusic.com yesterday hosted U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, former Secretary of Education Richard Riley and local Washington DC-area students on board the state-of-the-art recording facility where The Black Eyed Peas, Fergie, John Legend and more have recorded tracks.

National Wanna Play Music Week, May 3-7, ends on a high note with the Friday announcement of National Music Store Appreciation Day by NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry.  The commemorative day will recognize and thank the thousands of local business heroes who help to promote music making.

The TEC Foundation for Excellence in Audio has announced that for the first time its 26th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity Awards® will be held at the NAMM Show on Friday Jan. 14, 2011, in Anaheim, California. Presented annually by NAMM since 1902, the NAMM Show is the largest trade show for the international music products industry and draws close to 90,000 attendees to its exhibits and educational programs annually.

DAS LABEL/Interscope’s The Pretty Reckless was announced today by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) as an official spokesgroup of National Wanna Play Music Week, May 3-7. Taylor Momsen, one of the stars of the CW’s hit show, “Gossip Girl,” makes her musical debut this year as the lead singer and songwriter of the The Pretty Reckless.

NAMM today announced a continuation of its recent efforts to broaden attendance at Summer NAMM by inviting and allowing its Members to invite more music students, parents, music advocates and enthusiasts to the 2010 event.

 The NAMM Foundation today announced that it is once again inviting music educators to attend “Music Education Days” being held this summer during the 2010 Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, Tenn., the music products industry's mid-year gathering from June 18-20, 2010. 

NAMM, the trade association of the international music products industry, released a new white paper addressing the enormous business changes taking place and analyzing the role trade shows play within the musical instruments and products segment today.
