MAKE MUSIC DAY 2016 TO BE CELEBRATED IN 38+ U.S. CITIES ON JUNE 21, BRINGING MILLIONS OF PEOPLE TOGETHER TO MAKE AND ENJOY MUSIC
Make Music Day, the annual global celebration featuring more than 3,000 free, outdoor music making events in the United States, returns tomorrow – June 21. The daylong event, which affirms the transformative power of music in our lives, will be experienced by millions of people in over 38 U.S. cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Boston, Nashville, San Diego, Seattle, Portland (OR), Madison (WI), Philadelphia, Detroit, Denver, Cleveland, Washington, D.C., St.
At the Summer NAMM Show, held June 23-25 at Nashville’s Music City Center, the professional recording sector will gather for three days of high-end training. Delivered as the core component of Summer NAMM Show, the TEC Tracks program will feature a full series of seminars from industry leaders and insiders, and will include expert engineering tutorials, mastering secrets from the AES, recording advice, and even a glimpse into the future of audio.

Summer NAMM, the industry’s largest and most vibrant music products tradeshow returns to Nashville’s Music City Center June 23-25 for its biggest year yet. This year’s show will feature new and returning attendees from among the top brands in musical instruments, gear, technologies and accessories, and will include a robust line-up of artists who will perform all three days of the annual gathering.
Last week, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM), along with 91 music industry leaders and artists made up a delegation of advocates furthering the case that all children deserve quality, comprehensive school music education programs during the NAMM Music Education Advocacy D.C. Fly-In (May 23-26, 2016).

WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 25, 2016 – On Monday evening, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) honored Senator Lamar Alexander (TN) with the organization’s SupportMusic Champion Award. The award was given in recognition of the Senator’s long history in music education advocacy and comes on the heels of the historic passage of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), a bill introduced by Senator Alexander and signed into law by President Obama in 2015.
NAMM Honors President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities Turnaround Arts Artists with SupportMusic Awards
WASHINGTON, D.C. – May 25, 2016 – At a reception held last night, the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) presented leading artists, creative luminaries and champions of arts education from the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities program, Turnaround Arts, with the SupportMusic Champion award. The award was given as designation of each artist’s commitment to increasing access to arts in schools, and dedication to expanding arts education.
