A Message to NAMM Members and Friends Affected by the Recent Natural Disasters
All of us at NAMM would like to express our sincere concern for everyone impacted by the recent natural disasters. The coming weeks will be a difficult time of assessing damage and beginning recovery efforts. Alongside the U.S. government, national and local disaster relief organizations will be on the front lines of this work. We know that many of our members have been directly impacted and that many more of our members around the globe have been looking for ways to assist.
We are working with our member companies and music education programs in the affected areas to identify needs and solutions. NAMM directly works with and encourage donations to Music Rising, the The Mr. Holland's Opus Foundation's fund which helps restore school music programs affected by natural disasters; GRAMMY's MusiCares which provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in times of need; or any of the organizations listed here.
The music community is a resilient one and time and time again we’ve seen music programs restored after these types of tragedies, often coming back even stronger than before. We believe in the power of music as a force for good, and continue to work toward our vision of a world in which every child has access to music and music education.
The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) is the not-for-profit association with a mission to strengthen the $17 billion music products industry. NAMM is comprised of approximately 10,300 members located in 104 countries and regions. NAMM events and members fund The NAMM Foundation's efforts to promote the pleasures and benefits of music, and advance active participation in music making across the lifespan.
