Frank Untermyer

Frank Untermyer studied woodworking and instrument building in Germany before returning to the United States to help form Hamer Guitars with college friends, Paul Hamer and Jol Dantzig. The company produced a series of innovative products and when it was sold to Kaman, both Frank and Jol moved to the Ovation plant in New Hartford, Connecticut. Frank became the plant manager, working with the entire line of Kaman products including Guild and Ovation. When Fender Musical Products bought Kaman in 2007, Frank was given the additional task of managing the Gretsch Drum production. His knowledge is equal to his passion for quality and innovation, making Frank one of the visionaries of the music products industry.
