The NAMM Foundation’s President’s Innovation Award (PIA) first established in 2009 is given to college students with interest in pursuing a career in the music industry and who demonstrate excellence in the field of music.

The annual scholarship, which has been awarded to 564 students to date, is designated to help fund travel expenses for recipients to attend the annual NAMM Show each January in Anaheim, California. Once at NAMM, students have the ability to attend professional development sessions, interact with over 7,000 music products, pro audio and live event technology exhibitors, attend concerts and special events and have access to numerous networking sessions.

Applications for the PIA are now open and close on September 30, 2019 with recipients receiving notification of the $750 cash award on November 1, 2019.

In order to qualify, students must be enrolled in a music business, music education, or music technology program at a university for the 2019 summer or fall semesters and are required to provide a spring 2019 transcript, have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have a full-time student status at the time of the 2020 NAMM Show.
