Together with other musical instrument service organizations, the attached brief outlines issues and solutions to the proposed ivory ban that would restrict travel, use and trade of musical instruments with ivory embellishments. Musical instruments are treasured for their artistic utility and use across decades and generations. NAMM and its Members share a deep belief that the precious animals that are victims of illegal poaching must be protected. Sensible regulations must be established to meet this important goal and also meet the needs of the music community.
