Closing on a High Note—Attendees Make Their Own Music
“DrumLine Battle Summer NAMM” launched at noon on Saturday in the plaza at the Music City Center’s main entrance. According to DCI Director of Sales and Business Development John DeNovi, “DrumLine Battle is a new opportunity for drumlines around the world to compete. It’s really not new—it’s been around for a while, and you’ve probably seen it in the movie 'Drumline.'” Local Nashville high school drumlines from McGavock High School and Antioch High School faced off. Antioch High School Drumline took home the Summer NAMM title.
Hosted by NAMM and Kala Brand Music Co., the third annual Summer NAMM Community Ukulele Circle was facilitated by Nashville local ukulele favorite, Todd Elgin. Singing enhanced the afternoon strum-a-long.
NAMM and Remo hosted Summer NAMM’s Community Drum Circle, which was facilitated by Bongo Boy Music’s Ed Gaus. All participants thoroughly enjoyed the end-of-day event.
