Take the Stairs Focuses on Achieving Success
Friday's Breakfast Session, Take the Stairs, was presented by Rory Vaden, New York Times best-selling author of Take the Stairs: 7 Steps to Achieving True Success. Walking attendees through the "Paradox Principle of Sacrifice," he stressed the importance of self discipline and the downfalls of procrastination.
"I thought the session was great. It's very helpful to think about particulars in combatting procrastination because I think it's very much part of every business and motivating people," says Kate Rich from Creative Music Center in Monroe, Conn. "I think in just going over the topic of discipline—in talking as a group, as a staff, I think that's very important because it's easy to lose sight of that every day. If you just address it more routinely, I think you'll have good outcomes."
Vaden also appeared in the NAMM Idea Center later for his session, "How to Stay on Top of Your Priorities." Talking about time management and how to identify priorities, he offered concrete ideas that the audience could take home to start controlling the way they evaluate time.
