2014 NAMM Top 100 Dealer Award Winners Celebrated

The Candyman Strings & Things of Santa Fe, N.M., is the 2014 ‘Dealer of the Year,’ awarded by the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) at the fourth annual Top 100 Dealer Awards. At the July 18 awards event held during the Summer NAMM Show in Nashville, eight additional awards were presented to retailers. The ‘Dealer of the Year’ and other category winners are chosen from among NAMM’s Top 100 Dealers, named earlier this year.

Forum Informs Attendees About Intellectual Property Protection

The Intellectual Property Forum brought together music product creators, innovators, fabricators, business owners and managers concerned about securing and protecting their intellectual property. Recreational Music Making Forum Promotes Community Involvement

The Recreational Music Making Forum during Summer NAMM addressed opportunities in local communities and the best ways to reach out to customers to engage them in the joys of making music. In a panel moderated by Antoinette Follette, Editor-in-Chief of Making Music Magazine, panelists Aaron Friedman and Amy Garapic of Make Music New York, and Lora Bodmer, NAMM Director of Public Relations, shared expert tips.

Getting Updates at the Import/Export Forum

The Import/Export Forum during Summer NAMM addressed updates on current import/export regulations and how they affect industry businesses. Jim Goldberg of Goldberg Associates and Mary Luehrsen, NAMM Director of Public Affairs, hosted officials from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services and President and Founder of Gold Tone, Wayne Rogers. 2014 Music Industry Day Is Saturday

On Saturday, July 19, Summer NAMM opens its doors to musicians, music lovers and pro-light, audio and staging professionals in Music City. The day presents the opportunity for these enthusiasts to demo the gear of tomorrow, network with music industry leaders, designers and artists, and enjoy live performances and music workshops. The day features a full schedule of events, including music by 5-time Emmy winner Jonathan Jackson and local favorite Greg Bates on the NAMM Acoustic Nation Stage.
