American Idol's Melinda Doolittle to Perform at Summer NAMM
NAMM is proud to announce that Melinda Doolittle will be performing at the NAMM Top 100 Dealer Awards on Friday evening.
The Top 100 Dealer Awards honors music retailers from across the country and the world for excellence across seven categories including the coveted “Dealer of the Year” title.
Hosted by CMT’s Cody Alan, this night includes great food, networking and entertainment and NAMM is pleased to have Doolittle as the evening’s songstress.
Doolittle became a household name during season six of American Idol in 2007. She came in third in the voting and first with Simon Cowell calling her his “personal favorite” and like a “young Gladys Knight.” She soon became the sweetheart of American Idol with her powerhouse vocals and charming personality and won over hearts week after week.
In 2009, Doolittle released her first album titled, “Coming Back to You” which received rave reviews from critics across the country. Her sophomore album, “You’re The Reason,” released in 2013, allowed her fans to see more of her personality and vocal range. Today, Doolittle performs in her own show titled, “Great American Soul Book.”
Because of her unique, soulful style, Doolittle has become a highly sought-after background vocalist, singing for musical icons such as Michael McDonald, Aretha Franklin, BeBe and CeCe Winans, Aaron Neville and Jonny Lang.
The NAMM Top 100 Dealer Awards will be held from 6-8:30 pm on Friday, July 14 in Grand Ballroom C, at Music City Center in Nashville. All Summer NAMM attendees are welcome to join and cheer on their peers!
