The inspiration truly begins at Summer NAMM with a variety of unique, fun and business-building events happening in and around Music City Center, Nashville from June 26-30. ‘Georgia On My Mind’ Concert

On Tuesday, June 26, right before Summer NAMM opens, Gretsch will host the 5th Annual “Georgia On My Mind” concert at the famous Ryman theater in Nashville. Over the last four years, this annual concert has raised nearly $300,000 to support the Georgia Music Foundation and its efforts to champion music education, preservation and outreach grants. The event is hosted by the Peach Pickers that will lead an incredible musical line-up, including performances by Randy Houser, Chris Janson, Jamey Johnson, Lauren Alaina, John Berry, Michael Ray, Pat Alger, Tony Arata, Travis Denning, Trea Landon and more!

Guitars for Vets – National PTSD Awareness Day Concert

Yamaha is joining with G4V to hold a live music performance in Nashville to highlight National PTSD Awareness Day, featuring students and graduates of G4V's program of PTSD rehabilitation through music, as well as guest Yamaha Artists and other musicians, to be announced. This event is free to the public!

The She Rocks Summer NAMM Showcase

Join the Women’s International Music Network for their annual She Rocks Showcase featuring amazing female talent. It takes place at The Listening Room on June 27 at 8:30pm. Performers include Youtube superstar Megan Davies, duo Roses & Cigarettes, the Voice’s Gigi Rich and local artist Karina Daza. Only a $5 suggested donation and there’s an amazing raffle with gear from Martin Guitar, Daisy Rock, Sennheiser, Paul Mitchell and more on site. World's Fastest Drummer Prelims

Do you have what it takes to be the World's Fastest Drummer? Prove it!

This highly charged interactive event will be held on the NAMM Reverb Stage on the Terrace at the Music City Center during Summer NAMM. The contest consists of two categories: Battle of the Hands and Battle of the Feet. Preliminaries will be held Thursday, June 28th and Friday, June 29th from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. The top ten Fastest Hands and top ten Fastest Feet will compete in a Finals Battle held Saturday at 10:00 am.

Note: WFD attendees do not require a NAMM badge to participate.

WFD-Extreme Sport Drumming has been a feature on The Warped Tour, OzzFest and most major networks including ESPN, FOX SPORTS, MTV, VH1, ABC, BBC, PBS The Science and Discovery Channels and CNN. WFD The Game produced well over 1.5 million plays for MTV's Addicting Games in its first 90 days. WFD is the official ruling and certification organization for Guinness World Records.

Top 100 Dealer Awards

Cheer on your peers at NAMM’s annual Top 100 Dealer Awards, also dubbed the “Retail Oscars” by Music Inc. magazine. On Friday evening, June 29, retailers from across the globe will compete across eight categories and the coveted Dealer of the Year title. Radio personality Kelly Ford will be hosting this special night full of food, live entertainment and an abundance of helpful advice from the industry’s most successful retailers.

Make Music Experience

On Saturday June 30, Summer NAMM will host the “Make Music Experience,” an all-day all-access pass for the prosumer audience to trial the latest music and pro audio gear from top manufacturers across the globe. Enjoy career-enhancing educational sessions, demo products and enjoy fun, interactive events and performances.

Session highlights include songwriting, recording, marketing and PR, licensing, live sound, house of worship and software development. This day is free for NAMM members. For prosumers, it’s $10 in advance and $20 at the door.

Pensado’s Pro Audio Party

Pensado’s Place, the hour-long weekly web series co-hosted by legendary mix engineer Dave Pensado and show creator Herb Trawick, will join the Make Music Experience (MME) at Summer NAMM on Saturday, June 30.

The popular web show will broadcast live from Summer NAMM and will feature audio and recording luminaries as they discuss techniques, products and projects in an hour-long live interview session. Attendees will be able to participate in the session as well as hang with Herb and Dave in a special mentoring session which starts at 1pm inside Music City Center.

Ukulele and Guitar Circles

Join your community on Saturday, June 30 with two opportunities to brush up on your musical skills. Brought to you by NAMM in collaboration with The Guitar & Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA), the Summer NAMM guitar circle is a free hour-long group lesson where you’ll learn basic guitar techniques as well as a few songs.

Then join Hawaiian legend, “Ukulenny” as he teaches a free group lesson on Ukulele where you’ll learn the basics and add some new tunes to your repertoire. No experience required. Brought to you by NAMM in collaboration with Fender Play.

Vintage King Beer and Gear Summit

Unwind after Summer NAMM at Vintage King Nashville with an afternoon full of incredible food, tasty drinks, gear demos and panel discussions. The Nashville-based location of the pro audio outfitter has lined up an exciting afternoon, including a conversation with Grammy award-winning producer, mixer and engineer Joe Chiccarelli (U2, Alanis Morissette). Warren Huart will lead a Produce Like A Pro Panel featuring Jeff Balding (Taylor Swift, Eagles), Ryan Freeland (Bonnie Raitt, Ray LaMontagne), Ryan Hewitt (Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Avett Brothers), Kim Rosen (Dashboard Confessional, Franz Ferdinand) and F. Reid Shippen (Dierks Bentley, Eric Church). In addition to the fun and festivities, the Vintage King Nashville showroom will be open, allowing customers to hear new gear in a studio setting and choose to A/B products from an incredible selection of the world’s best consoles, microphones, monitors, outboard gear and so much more.

All Star Guitar Night at 2018 Summer NAMM

Muriel Anderson’s All Star Guitar Night will take place on Saturday, June 30 5–7 pm. This is unique, guitar-centric event brings together talented guitar players, from household names to up-and-coming artists, for a night of entertaining music performances. This intimate show will be in one of Nashville's finest and most respected music venues at the corner of 3rd & Lindsley, 1 mile from the convention center. 

There will be feature performances from Tommy Emmanuel, Jack Pearson, Keith Medley, Thom Bresh, Rory Hoffman, Muriel Anderson, plus surprise guests. Tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20.00 at the door.
