Summer NAMM's 'Future of the Guitar' Celebration
The inaugural “Future of the Guitar” at Summer NAMM is a series of curated guitar-focused product collections, sessions and interactive experiences with the aim to educate and inspire guitar buyers and enthusiasts about new innovations and future trends.
Today, the guitar is more popular than ever, and new technologies are allowing more people, young and old, to pick up a guitar and start playing.
In celebration of this cornerstone instrument, inside the guitar-shaped Music City Center, guitar-related activities will be happening across the Summer NAMM Campus this year, culminating with the Make Music Experience open to all enthusiasts on the last day of the show.
A special NAMM Idea Center session will cover New Trends in the Guitar, as a panel of guitar gurus will discuss real ideas, tips and success stories focusing on the new trends in guitar design and performance.
Advanced Audio + Applications Exchange (A3E) will also look at future guitar technology in a forward-thinking session on the TEC Tracks stage. A bonus session on Pedal Board and Effects Boxes for Guitarists will also be presented by a panel of experts.
Policy discussions in the Member Center on CITES and Prop 65 will also give attendees the latest information that will affect conducting business domestically and abroad. Learn best practices and compliance and get your questions answered from an expert panel.
Boutique Guitar Showcase
Unique and innovative guitars will be present across the show floor, including a special curated selection of handcrafted masterpieces at the Boutique Guitar Showcase. Now in its second year, this special area unites guitar craftsmen from around the globe to display guitars with unique designs and materials that your competitors definitely won’t have in their store windows.
Special performances, interactive displays, hands-on demos and other surprises will be announced in the weeks to come.
“The Guitar Lives” Roundtable Discussions
Join expert-led roundtable discussions on the future of the guitar, geared toward guitar manufacturers, guitar players, enthusiasts, collectors, music retailers and teachers. Discussions will include the changing and ongoing relevance of the guitar in pop music, the joys of owning, playing and collecting guitars and the next wave of guitar instruction in schools including a workshop on guitar teaching best practices.
A bi-annual favorite, NAMM’s ukulele circle will provide a free one-hour group ukulele lesson where attendees will learn popular Hawaiian tunes from performer and educator, “UkuLenny.” Ukuleles and chord charts provided! Come learn the value of recreational music making and how to incorporate this fun form of education into your own music business.
Attend the Guitar Circle on Saturday where you'll learn the basics—no experience required! Brought to you by NAMM in collaboration with The Guitar & Accessories Marketing Association (GAMA).
The Make Music Experience all day Saturday will feature a series of events including the “BYOG” or “Bring Your Own Guitar” jam in the lobby of Music City Center. A special celebrity just might show up to jam with you!
Don’t miss out on all of these events and more at the industry’s quintessential summer gathering.
