Alice Wallace

Fullerton, CA

Southern California songbird Alice Wallace's powerful, elastic singing and melodic, literate song-crafting have been earning her accolades across the country over the past several years. The LA Music Critic Awards named her “Best Country/Americana Artist” in 2016, and “Best Country Artist” in 2017, and her latest album on California Country Records was listed in 7 categories on the first-round Grammy ballot earlier this year. She was also just announced as an official showcase artist at the 2017 Americana Music Association Festival in Nashville in September with artists like Brand Clark, Rodney Crowell, Brent Cobb and Aaron Lee Tasjan.

With a band of top-notch LA musicians by her side - Tom Bremer on guitar, Austin Callender on bass and Josh Huppert on drums - Wallace's songs tell stories about love, loss and life on the road. She grew up singing the songs of Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Patsy Cline, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt and many others - and that influence is strong in her original songs. And after teaching herself to yodel in college, she makes sure to sprinkle that classic vocal technique throughout her live shows.

In 2016, Wallace played nearly 200 shows across the U.S.  – including appearances at venues such as the Saxon Pub in Austin, the Hotel Café in Los Angeles and the Bluebird Café in Nashville. She also embarked on a fledging tour of the UK that included two performances at the Country 2 Country Festival in London, which was headlined by artists such as Chris Stapleton, Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Dwight Yoakam. Just recently, she and her band played for an audience of 5,500 at the Pacific Amphitheater opening for The Band Perry. She has also recently shared stages with artists such as Wynonna Judd, Suzy Bogguss, Lee Ann Womack, JD Souther, Billy Joe Shaver and Ray Wylie Hubbard.

"She's stunning, and McQueen 'The Cincinnati Kid' cool,” Hubbard said of Wallace.
