Cole (formerly Emily Cole) is an up and coming singer/songwriter/Houston ~ NYC recording artist/performing artist residing in Montgomery, TX. She has a pop/alternative style, with influences from Melanie Martinez, Hailee Steinfeld, Bea Miller, Tori Kelly, to name a few. Cole began her musical journey when she was 12 years old, after writing her first song and being featured live at Dosey Doe Big Barn (The Woodlands, TX) with Real Life Real Music. She was hooked and hasn't looked back! Cole released her debut album October, 2015. It can be found on iTunes, Google Play, etc. (https://smarturl.it/emilycole). In June, 2016, she traveled to New York to work with Producers/Writers, The Elev3en and Jeremy "Kinetics" Dussolliet. Their song “Over” can be found on social media platforms. In October, 2017, Cole was invited to play in a showcase in Nashville. While there, she had the opportunity to write with Jenn Rykert; the outcome is her single, “Two Faced.” "Two Faced” has been released and can be found on iTunes, Google Play, and all social media platforms (itun.es/us/2faShb). Cole's last East single "If I'm Really" happened to be released when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. Cole is raising money to donate through her gigs and all proceeds from "If I'm Really" will go to families/shelters still in need, as Harvey left many homeless.
Cole continues to write, with an ep/album in mind for the near future. It will consist of songs she is co-writing with other artists, as well as with her brother who is also involved in the music industry as a writer and an engineer. Cole recently did a TV interview and is featured in KBTX TV’s “Free Music Friday” segment, was interviewed by ETX Rocks, Community Impact Newspaper, and by Woodlands Hits. In each of these, she got to talk about her latest single. Cole also had the honor of participating in Love Street Light Circus – Tonic Music Series wherein she visited Texas Children’s Hospital and sang for cancer victims and their families. The smiles on the children’s faces were like no other experience. She is looking forward to repeat visits. She also visits/performs for the children at Truman W. Smith's Children's Care Center in Gladewater, TX. Cole also donates her time performing at benefits that help raise money for cancer victims and their families, as well as other benefits/charities, helping raise money for those less fortunate.
FUN THINGS IN STORE in 2017 (besides her usual schedule of gigs at venues and festivals, writing sessions, recording, and hanging with friends): Cole has been invited to tour with High School Nation. In the fall, she will start with their Concert Series, targeting high schools across the state of Texas. She's also in the process of booking shows at Aloft Hotels across Texas, her first being at Houston's Downtown Aloft. She will wrap up this year's traveling with another trip to Nashville later in 2017; she’s been invited to join Judy Stakee’s Songwriting Retreat "It All Starts With a Song."
While Cole has performed most of her shows as a solo artist (accompanying herself with guitar, ukulele, keys), she has been quite busy playing shows as a duo with Andrew Thomas Smythe. She also brings along her band, when requested. Though Cole just recently turned 17, she is blessed to get the opportunity to perform weekly. You can follow her on social media to keep up with her show schedule.
