Monarch Theatre is an indie alternative rock n roll band with a penchant for dance beats, a touch of psychedelia, and a flare for theatrics for the sake of living music. Heavily influenced by the sounds of 60's and 70's rock n roll, as well as the alternative new wave sounds of the 80's, Marc Monarch (vocals), Zach Gustafson (lead guitar), Adrian Alcantar (rhythm guitar), Shawn Thompson (bass), and Alex Peacock (drums) combine said elements with the awesome sounds and beats of today for a more contemporary yet nostalgic feel to their music. Influences can be attributed to bands like Led Zeppelin, The Doors, David Bowie, Alice Cooper, The Cure, Siouxsie and the Banshees, The White Stripes, The Darkness, Two Door Cinema, and The 1975 to name a few. Monarch Theatre has played all over Southern California notably Los Angeles, Ventura County, Orange County, and San Diego. The band was chosen to be a finalist at the 2016 San Diego County Fair Battle of the Bands and drew praise from The Cure's former drummer and co-founder, Lol Tolhurst. They have also played to packed crowds at notable Southern California venues like AMPLYFi in Los Angeles, The Glass House in Pomona, The District in Downtown Redlands, and House of Blues San Diego to name a few.
Always striving to give the best show possible for audiences everywhere, Monarch Theatre will do everything and anything to make sure audiences always leave wanting more.
