Eastman Guitars Introduces the SB59/v-GB

Antique Varnish Series gets a new finish and features Lollar Custom Aged/Wound Imperial Humbucker pickups

Pomona, CA, January 25, 2018 – Building on the debut of the SB59 and NAMM 2017, Eastman is once again changing the conversation about what it means – and takes – to create old-school guitars that both honor tradition while living and breathing in today’s top trends. The SB59/v-GB brings together Eastman’s exceptional craftspeople with master pickup winder Jason Lollar. When asked what inspired Lollar’s collaboration with Eastman, he replied, “We are committed to working with guitar-makers that are serious about quality and that are concerned about improving standards industry-wide, and we have found Eastman to be one of those makers.”

SB59/v-GB Features:

  • Body Top:         Solid Carved Maple
  • Back/Sides:       1 Piece Mahogany
  • Pickups:           Lollar Custom Aged/Wound Imperial Humbuckers
  • Finish:              Antique Goldburst Varnish
  • Nut:                 Bone 1 11/16”
  • Neck:               One Piece Mahogany
  • Case:                Hard Shell Case
  • MSRP:              $2,299/€ 2299/GBP 1999

Head of R&D and product management, Pepijn ‘t Hart had this to say about this new solid body addition to the Antique Varnish Series, “We wanted to expand the color options in the Antique Varnish Series, but to do so, we needed to combine nitrocellulose (for any Burst finish on the top) with clear Violin varnish. It turned out that the two finishes, nitrocellulose and varnish, go very well together in sound and in look! Antique Goldburst is the first new color we will introduce this NAMM. The pickups are especially voiced by Jason Lollar, the Lollar Custom aged/Wound Imperial humbuckers, the sound is unbelievable!”
