Disneyland Expansion to Create New Opportunities for The NAMM Show
This summer, there are some exciting new developments in Anaheim that will benefit the future of The NAMM Show. Downtown Disney will continue their expansion of the Disneyland Resort as they start the development of their first new hotel in almost two decades. Set to open in 2021, this new 700 room hotel will transform the west end of Downtown Disney and anchor a new gateway to the resort. While these improvements are being made, parking, pedestrian access and hotel availability will not directly be affected for the upcoming 2019 NAMM Show. In the summer and fall of 2018, the area east of the Disneyland Hotel will experience some changes:
- To accommodate the development of the new hotel, ESPN Zone, Earl of Sandwich, AMC Theater, Rainforest Café and one Starbucks location have closed.
- Beginning July 1, walls will be placed around the former ESPN Zone and Rainforest Café locations, and entrance from that side, and security checkpoint located north of these locations (in the former valet loop) will be closed.
- All access to Downtown Disney from the hotels will be through the security checkpoint between the former ESPN Zone and Earl of Sandwich locations, across from the Disneyland Hotel Adventure Tower.
