Lounge 88—The Keys to Great Music
In 1901, NAMM began as the National Association of Piano Dealers of America. As the name suggests, its first trade show was entirely focused on the American piano industry. After the years past and the association grew, NAPDA changed its moniker and became increasingly inclusive of the greater industry, becoming the international trade organization it is today.
Fast forward to The 2019 NAMM Show, and attendees can experience the latest and greatest in music instruments, pro audio and event technology, all under one roof. Despite this growth, NAMM has never forgotten its roots as a piano association.
Located on Level 3 of the Anaheim Convention Center, Lounge 88 is a main attraction of the NAMM Campus, which celebrates the piano’s rich history and future. In addition to showcasing a number of world-renowned piano brands, Lounge 88 will feature two multi-piano ensemble performances.
On Friday and Saturday at 5:30 pm, Roomful of Pianos will impress attendees as 15 and 30 pianists, respectively, will perform simultaneously. Join Conductor Kimo Furumoto, as he leads performances of Paul Dukas’ “The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” on Friday, and Claude Debussy’s “Nocturnes: Nuages and Fêtes,” on Saturday evening.
This year's performances are generously sponsored by Steinway & Sons, Kawai, Dynatone, Schimmel, Mason & Hamlin, Seiler, Bluthner, Perzina, Wilh. Steinberg, Grotrian, Korg, and Gator Frameworks.
