Jimmie Rodgers was a popular singer and songwriter who topped the charts in the 1950s and 60s with recordings such as "Kisses Sweeter than Wine," "Oh-Oh, I'm Falling in Love Again," "Are You Really Mine" and his 1957 hit “Honeycomb.” Jimmy was taught music by his mother, learning to play the guitar and piano. As a teenager he was a well-known contestant on Arthur Godfrey's talent show, a break Jimmy always thought was a big step in his career. He soon began recording and writing his own music. Other hits included "Secretly," Bimbombey" and "Make Me a Miracle." Despite a near fatal beating, that was never fully solved, Jimmy struggled to recover but was able to make music again. He performed briefly around the publishing of his autobiography in 2010 but soon needed heart surgery and retired from singing.  He passed away at the age of 87 in January 2021.
