 Marybeth Peters worked in the United States copyright office for over 40 years and became one of the country’s leading authorities on copyright laws as it relates to published and performed music. Our interview with her included information regarding her career as well as a wonderful review of the history of US music copyright and how it has changed over the years. While attending law school, Marybeth discovered the copyright office as a branch of the Library of Congress and was hired as a music examiner. After developing a love and passion for copyright law, she decided to make it her career.
