Over the course of these three days, the industry crossroads will convene to network and renew business relationships, partake in professional education sessions, and launch and discover new products. Martin & Co., Casio, Conn-Selmer, Ernie Ball, ESP, Hal Leonard, KMC Music, Taylor Guitars, and Yamaha, among others. Artists/Performers: Whether gigging locally or touring across the country or the world, artists and performers are encouraged to register for The NAMM Show. This year there are many exciting world-class professional sessions designed specifically for artists. Just a fraction of the sessions includes “How to Generate Multiple Income Streams as a Musician,” “How to Monetize Your Music in Film and TV,” “New Music Launch Checklist: How to Get Your Music Out There,” “The Perfect Storm: When Internal and External Factors Line Up to Make a Hit Song,” and “The Top 5 Streaming Growth Tactics in 2022,” among others. Ari Herstand, the author of How to Make It in the New Music Business, will present the highly-anticipated “How Musicians Should Use TikTok.”

Herstand said, “The NAMM Show is a great opportunity to make the important connections that will further your career,” and believes that TikTok is the most powerful musical promotional tool for artists. He explains, “There has never been a platform where music can catch on rapidly without having many followers. We are witnessing artists with low follower counts have their songs go viral and translate directly into massive streaming numbers.” Artists will walk away from this session ready to take the business side of their music careers seriously and will be prepared for success.

Artists and performers hoping to monetize content for the first time, or individuals aspiring to grow their presence across the multitude of platforms available, The 2022 NAMM Show offers aspiring influencers an abundance of resources to aid in increasing their following. Professional development sessions targeted toward influencers include “Generating Revenue Through Content Marketing,” “How to Make Effective Videos for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube,” “The Present and Future of Brand Partnerships,” “SEO Update: Strategies to Rise to the Top of Google Searches,” and for those on Twitch, The NAMM Show recommends, “The Great Video Game Songbook: Gershwin to Graves; Kern to Kondo.” Beyond professional development, The NAMM Show is a destination for capturing dynamic content, and influencers can expect to see high-class activations throughout the campus.

Beyond these educational offerings, artists, performers, and influencers across genres will be hitting the stages as part of the Bands at NAMM Program and can check out the latest and greatest gear from all their favorite brands.

Educators and Students: Registering and attending The NAMM Show as an administrator, educator, or student presents a wealth of opportunities to enhance your education, network, and for students, prepare for a career in the music products industry. Students may find the programs via The NAMM Foundation’s GenNext program of particular interest, including “Diversification: Preparing Music Students for a 21st Century Income” and “Network with the Pros: Quick Tips for Having a Career in the Music Industry.” Outside of the professional development sessions, students are encouraged to attend the GenNext mixer, visit the GenNext Lounge in Hall A near the Media Center to recharge, rest, network, and participate in the all-industry drum circle and uke circle.

Nonprofits: If your nonprofit is looking to expand its impact on your community, The NAMM Foundation’s Nonprofit Management Institute is a tried-and-true set of curated sessions only available at The NAMM Show. Attendees will gain insights and resources to grow and succeed while obtaining a certificate of completion from the four-session institute. Topics include “An Agile Nonprofit is a Successful Nonprofit,” “Beyond Good Intentions: Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Programming, Operations, and Governance,” “Reevaluate Your Mission and Vision to Meet the Needs of Your Community,” and “Unlocking Innovation to Up Your Nonprofit’s Game.” More information on the Nonprofit Management Institute can be found at https://www.nammfoundation.org/projects/nonprofit-management-institute.
