Friedrich Mönnig

Friedrich Mönnig started to build oboes, clarinets, and bassoons in 1955 for his dad, Willi Mönnig’s, company. Later he became head of the production of flutes at Gebrüder Mönnig and worked there until the year 2000. As did his brother, Friedrich, and Klaus, who is their cousin first removed, and he grew into the family’s business during times of socialism in East Germany. After the collapse of the socialist regime and reunification of Germany, the Gebrüder Mönnig company was back in the hands of Friedrich, Wilhelm, and Klaus. They decided to delegate the business decisions to two managing directors while remaining shareholders of the company as the managing directors and part of the labor force working at Gebrüder Mönnig.
