John Egan

John Egan was working in the parts department for Ford Motor Company when his old friend Peter Hayward called him. Peter had formed a music wholesale company, which was expanding by the late 1970s and John joined the company as it brought on several key product lines including Ernie Ball Strings, Music Man amps, and Guild Guitars. In 1976, Peter, John, Geoff Brash, and Taro Kakahashi established Roland Australia to great success. The new company became very active in supporting music education programs such as those created by the newly formed Australian Music Association.
