Following an early 2022 US tour as keyboardist for Jerry Cantrell (Alice in Chains), JASON ACHILLES now divides his time as a touring multi-instrumentalist / music producer, orchestral composer, and “side gig” as an aerospace entrepreneur, having been featured prominently in WIRED Magazine and on such local LA features as KTLA news and KCRW radio, as well as internationally with CBC Radio, the BBC, and more.

In 2017 Achilles leveraged his audio expertise into technical consulting with NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory ultimately helping bring to Earth the first sounds of the planet Mars as recorded by the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover. Currently he is developing a touring immersive planetarium show that will inspire the public through his unlikely personal journey from music to space. Along with drummer Forrest Mitchell, Achilles performs a monthly musical residency in Pasadena as part of Caltech's widely popular "Astronomy on Tap" series drawing upwards of 500 visitors at each event.

Jason Achilles has notably worked with and performed alongside Dizzy Reed (Guns n. Roses), Vivian Campbell (Def Leppard, Dio), legendary Doug Kershaw "The Ragin' Cajun", Mark Schulman (Cher), Robby Krieger (The Doors), Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Matt Sorum and Chris Wyse (The Cult) amongst many. When not on the road performing live with his experimental ‘cosmic space-rock’ duo or advancing new aerospace concepts, he can be frequently spotted with his nerd-friends attempting to capture high-fidelity audio from the numerous rocket launches at Vandenberg Space Force Base in Southern California (and not have their microphones incinerated).
