Preparing the Next Generation of Music Industry Professionals

As the music industry has evolved in the last 10-20 years, the skills that beginners need to succeed have evolved as well. As such, degree programs in the music industry and adjacent areas need to adapt and grow in kind. This session will present feedback gathered from current industry professionals about the skills they see as critical to success. We will then demonstrate how colleges can adapt their degree program offerings to prepare students for career success, focusing on adaption of existing courses, creation of new courses, and implementation of experiential learning.
