SURRIJA (Sur-eye-ya) is an Electro art pop project that plays with asymmetry, glitch, and electronic treatment of her roots in singer/songwriter and classical training. Tactile and off-kilter. Released April 2020, the self-titled album features Matt Chamberlain (David Bowie, Perfume Genius, Fiona Apple), produced by Surrija, Sophocles, & Maxwell Gualtieri. It was nominated for Best Recording at SDMA 2021. “How Do I” was nominated for Best Pop Song at SDMA 2022. Music Video “Southern Winds” earned Best Music Video at Dublin Web Fest 2016.

Most recent contributions include featured vocal performance on soundtrack of Everything Everywhere All At Once, scored by Son Lux. She is currently co-music director and cast member of Cambodian Rock Band by Lauren Yee, music by Dengue Fever (Off-Broadway Signature Theatre 2020, La Jolla Playhouse 2019, OSF 2019). She was composer for All’s Well That Ends Well (OSF 2019) and Secret In The Wings (Coeurage Theatre 2017). Surrija has worked with Son Lux, Matt Chamberlain, Tom Brosseau, Felicia Day, Kate Earl, Kina Grannis. Her work has been featured in Earmilk, Ladygunn, Bearded Mag, CNN, Virgin America In-Flight, Huffington Post, UPPERCASE mag.
