Our students use technology all the time, yet their tech skills are often overestimated and misunderstood. While some students excel with technology, many would benefit from additional support. In this session you will learn about the myths and realities of current students’ technology competencies and ways to support them in developing music technology skills. Strategies include constructing compelling tech-based projects, fundamental computer skills students can develop through music tech, demystifying technical jargon, emphasizing musical processes, and constructing personal learning networks.
