Andy Clark was one of the great personalities of the music publishing industry. Over his long and respected career, Andy served as a musician, band director, arranger, composer, and publisher, always bringing enthusiasm and creativity to music education. Known for his keen understanding of school music programs, he helped strengthen countless bands and music departments by developing meaningful educational materials and supporting directors and students alike. In 1988, Andy co-founded Norman Lee Publishing before joining C. L. Barnhouse Company later that same year. During his decades with Barnhouse, Andy became instrumental in the company’s continued growth and influence within the band and educational music world, eventually serving as President Emeritus. Deeply respected throughout the industry, Andy was admired not only for his musical talents and leadership, but also for his warm spirit, humor, and dedication to music education. His passing on May 15, 2026, was deeply felt throughout the music community, especially among the many educators, composers, publishers, and students whose lives he positively impacted through his lifelong devotion to music making.
