Do you look back on your first year of teaching with nostalgia, a little embarrassment or both? If you could communicate with the young, naïve first-year music educator that you were, what would you tell yourself? Here’s a chance to participate in the making of a primer for young/future music educators and for young/future music educators to learn from seasoned veterans. Feel free to be funny, serious or even irreverent. Most importantly, we are looking to include information that would have been helpful to you when you were a first-year teacher that will help and encourage current music educators as they navigate through their first challenging year of teaching. You will definitely enjoy taking part in this “flipped classroom” session designed to provide a one-of-a-kind teaching and learning opportunity for music educators of all ages and levels of experience so be sure to bring along YOUR best “Tips for Success!”
