The NAMM Foundation works to advance active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs within the international music products industry. The SupportMusic Coalition was formed in 2003 by NAMM in collaboration with the National Association for Music Education (NAfME). A public service initiative that educates and supports grassroots advocacy for music education in local communities around the United States and abroad, SupportMusic unites over 10,000 non-profit organizations, schools and businesses working to keep music education strong in their communities. Established in 1946 when NAMM was only 45 years old, the NAMM Resource Center provides members, the media, academic researchers and the general public with access to the industry historical data from more than a century of NAMM research, records and archives and more than 3,000 videotaped interviews with people who have shaped the industry. The broader scope of the collections is the history of the music products industry, categorized into five main subject categories:

From the statistics and trends presented in the NAMM Global Report to the association's PLAYback Blog, NAMM works hard to keep you updated on the music products industry. And, to improve business efficiency, accuracy and communication, NAMM has formed the B2B Standards Committee to work with retailers and set an established technology standard within the industry.
NAMM Foundation's public service announcement (PSA) campaign themed "Just PLAY" is now airing on hundreds of TV and radio stations nationwide.
